Athletcs excel at provincials

Young athletes bring pride to school

Maragon Private Schools have a wealth of athletes who excel in various codes. They recently competed in the Athletics Championships, where 17 districts competed with 34 athletes per event.

The following athletes are to be congratulated for their amazing performances at the Gauteng Athletics Championships:

In the semifinals of the long jump event, Thomas Beling finished in seventh position, while Chloe Tanner finished third. She then went onto the finals where she only managed a 12th position. In the 200m hurdles, Chloe finished first in the quarterfinals and then took third position in the semifinals. In the finals, she managed a sixth position. Aiden Godfrey reached the semifinals of the high jump and finished in ninth place.

In the shotput event, Richard Agim reached the semifinals of the event, and finished in ninth place.

It was lucky number nine for Emma Jacobs as she finished in ninth position when she participated in the javelin and shotput semifinals.

Taryn Saby competed in the high jump semifinals, where he finished in fifth position. In the finals, he came in eighth.
