The King’s School gala makes a splash

ROBIN HILLS – Stroke after stroke, deep breath after the next, the title was being pursued with only one school, The King's School Robin Hills reigning supreme.

The King’s School Robin Hills reigned supreme when eight schools gathered for their inter-high swimming gala.

The schoolchildren gathered around the Delville swimming pool in Germiston on 1 March and serious waves were made when these high school pupils dived head first to claim the winning title and walked away victorious on the day.

Other schools present included Allen Glen High School, King David Victory Park, Krugersdorp High School, Marais Viljoen High School, Sacred Heart College, Trinity House Little Falls and The King’s College.

Stroke after stroke, deep breath after the next, the title was being pursued with only one school, The King’s School Robin Hills taking the glory.

“We are overjoyed with the win and thank God for helping us secure first place. A big thank you to every pupil who so diligently attended practice and gave it their all in the water on the day,” said Shaun van Wezel, director of the sports department. “Practice makes perfect and the team’s commitment to the sport enables us to walk away as victors.”

The school is currently in Division 2 (A league) and eagerly await their next opportunity to swim their hearts out and to keep The King’s School’s name high.

Van Wezel concluded, “We commend the other schools that took part for their sportsmanship and team spirit and thank the organisers for the opportunity to partake.”
