The Hurricane’s hit list

Muller aiming for Top 10.

Johnny The Hurricane Muller is back – and he is hungry.

After a three-month hiatus, The Hurricane returned to the ring on 1 December at the Box ‘n Dine event at Emperor’s Palace. The Hurricane, who fights in the cruiserweight category, knocked his opponent Herman Potgieter out in the second round. Now he has set his sights on two boxers on his ‘hit list’ – Kevin le Roux and Thabeso Mchunnu. Both these boxers are ranked in the WBA and WBC’s Top 10, and beating them will secure The Hurricane a spot in their company.

The Hurricane explained that he has a second reason for wanting to fight Le Roux – their previous bout ended in controversy when he slipped. The referee signaled that it was just a slip but Le Roux’s trainers jumped into the ring claiming victory.

“The ref did not even count me out,” said The Hurricane.

The Hurricane drives to his boxing gym, Hammer Gym, in Boksburg, six days a week to train. His day starts with an hour-long run, followed by a few hours in the boxing gym under the watchful eye of his trainer, the legendary Harold Volbrecht. His day ends with conditioning in a regular gym.

The Hurricane ended the interview by expressing his gratitude towards his trainer and his sponsor, Help24.

His next fight should be in March.
