Well done ETS

RUIMSIG – The best of the best ETS players were recognised on 30 October.

The Education Through Soccer club on 30 October awarded their 250, and growing, players for another year’s success.
The Roodepoort Athletics Stadium was packed with proud parents and coaches, and players of all ages who received either a medal or a trophy. Each team chose their team’s player of the year. The coaches also announced their team’s players of the year as well as the most improved players on each team.

The founder and owner of the soccer club, Lloyd Tuffney, said it was great to see how many children came to get their awards.
“It has been great to see their smiling faces,” he said.
Tuffney said because of where the club was situated, in Plein Street, Honeydew, a diverse group of players were attracted to the club from the surrounding areas such as Zandspruit.
“We put them all together, which is great,” he said.

* Team of the Year: The ladies team
* Junior Player of the Year: Nibo Dlamini
* Academy Player of the Year: Robert Goncalves
* Ladies Player of the Year: Monique Fernanades
* Club Goalkeeper of the Year: Sean Simoncelli
* Academy Goalkeeper of the Year: Fanie Raludangana
* Indoor Player of the Year: Stuart Grey
* Rising Star Award: Bohlale Mashilwane
* Club Dedication Award: Fanie Raludangana
* Members of the Year: Megan Rogers and Stuart Grey.

The club was started in 2001 by Tuffney who has vast experience in the South African soccer coaching field. It is dedicated to the development of young players and grassroots soccer coaching.
