Gymnasts strike gold at nationals

The young coach at Golden Lions Gymnastics is beaming with pride after her charges recently performed exceedingly well. Claudia Havenga took 25 acro-gymnasts to participate in the South African National Championships in Cape Town.

While representing the Central Gauteng Gymnastics Association, the gymnasts showed off their hard work and talents, bringing home 34 medals.

Between them, Claudia, who took over from Natalia Prokopchik 18 months ago, and Cyrece Louw have a wealth of experience in international events. They helped to guide the young gymnasts and have ensured the club continues its success in competitive events.

The Golden Lions Gymnastics Club is based in Newlands and has been promoting gymnastics in the area for decades.
