Golf director at the club, Charles Jerrard said this was the first networking series held and that he hoped that this series would grow in strength. The first event was held in August and the second on 22 September with the goal of companies growing their networks and, hopefully, helping them make partnerships and deals for the future.

Companies or business owners are required to enter a four-ball team, which is then split into teams of two players and paired with players from a different company, allowing them to form new business relationships. After the golf, players were treated to a braai and drinks as an extra networking opportunity.

Jerrard added that this series did not only benefit the players but also benefitted the club with more corporate members signing up.

The winner of the networking series will win a golf day at the club to the value of R16 500. “The winner can use it for a business event or donate it to a charity,” he said.

The final session of the networking series will be held in October.
