“It’s a privilege to be part of such a team and I will work hard to ensure that I do well for the team and represent my club and province,” she said.

Magdel has been in fine form this year and was also named Best Junior Girls Archer Gauteng, justifying her place in the elite provincial team.

Xuan Zevenster, Francois du Randt, Ewan Stander and Marno Joubert were selected to be part of the junior provincial team that consists of four junior girls and 12 junior boys. Francois echoed Magdel’s encouraging words of working hard and excelling in the competition.

“We’re confident we will do well in the national competition. We have to push ourselves during our practice sessions so we are prepared for all eventualities that may occur,” he said.
