Soccer star off to Spain

Young boy off to play in Spain

Florida’s Jordon Solomons will be heading off to Spain next month after excelling at the Gauteng Rand Central District Team’s trials.

He will be representing the Gauteng Rand Central Districts in the first week of July at a soccer tournament.

He was one of 12 U/12 boys chosen by the Randburg Soccer Club after intense trials in April.

He’s accomplishments don’t end there as the Constantia Kloof Primary School pupil also qualified to go to KwaZulu Natal as part of the D12 District team which will participate in a national soccer tournament.

However, both tournaments will take place in the first week of July and Jordan had to make a choice.

“I chose to go to Spain because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. My birthday will also be on the 3rd July, the day the tournament in Spain starts so I am very excited,” he said.

According to his parents Craig and Natalie, Jordan has improved immensely after joining FC Real, a club based in Weltevreden Park.

He has developed into a reliable and consistent centre back and left back at school and club level.

“Jordan has improved tremendously under the guidance and training of his coach Bevan Bowers who has tremendous experience having played for teams such as Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town. He has brought all his experience of playing professional football and involvement at development level to assist the club as a whole and it has paved the way for many of our players to be exposed to different academies,” said Craig.

Jordan will be representing the Gauteng Rand Central Districts team in the U/12 age group in San Sebastian, Spain from the 3rd to 9th July.

His team will be departing from OR Tambo on the 1st July.
