The Adrienne Hersch Challenge upon us

Online entries are rolling in for the Adrienne Hersch Challenge which takes place this Mother’s Day (Sunday 8 May).

Organised by the Randburg Harriers Running Club and in its 33rd year, this year’s race is expected to draw in excess of 4000 runners partaking in the 21km, 10km or 5km fun run.

PinkDrive is the charity of choice of this event and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the fight against breast cancer.

With the exciting new route for the 21km and 10km race, the Adrienne Hersch Challenge offers something for every runner.

For the 2 Oceans runner, the 21km provides a nice recovery run and an opportunity to stretch those legs after a decent break.

For the Comrades entrant, the 10km offers one last opportunity to get in a quality shorter run before The Comrades Marathon.

This event is not just for hardcore athletes however and the 5km fun run will offer a great day out for the whole family.

The start/finish offering a selection of entertainment, great food, good beer and other beverages as well as various other vendors.

As the 5km is a fun run, there is no license needed.

There will be entertainment for the children which will keep them immersed while other runners can explore the Randburg Harriers avenues and lanes.

Also to be noted is the super exciting ‘Nappy Dash’ which starts at 10am, this is a fun-filled run for those budding athletes under 4 years of age (Mom and Dad can help out too)

There will be medals and backpacks for the first 100 little athletes participating in the Nappy Dash.

Cost of entry ranges from R40 for the 5km fun run to R140 for the 21km. Online entries can be booked at www.entrytime.com.

Pre-entries and online entry collection will be available at the venue on the 6 to 8 May between 11am and 4pm (Cash only).

Late entries will be registered on the day between 5am and 7am.

The first 1500 entries will receive a free Adrienne Hersch Challenge T-shirt.

A portion of the entry fee will be donated to PinkDrive.
