Gymnasts in Dubai

Gymnasts make South Africa proud as they excel.

Visions Gymnastics Club in conjunction with the Johannesburg Gymnastics Centre represented South Africa at the Inaugural Dubai International Competition in Dubai last month.

The competition is a Junior international event and clubs from the United Kingdom, Dubai and Qatar participated this year.

Visions Gymnastics head coach Adele Heiner was one of the team managers along with assistant coach Linda Prinz and National judge Candice Cronje.

“This is a wonderful event for gymnasts to gain international competition experience for the future. Our team did exceptionally well,” said Heine.

The team made up of Sasha-Lee Taylor, Courtney Noel, Caitlyn Irvine-Smith, Nicole Botes, Nkazimlo Matyolo, Ashlin Gent came home with 12 medals.

The medals were three gold medals, four silver medals and five bronze medals on apparatus.

They took first and second positions in the Junior Gold section.

The gymnasts also won the overall Team event.
