Poorte to take on Wanderers

This weekend the Roodepoort Rugby Club will be hosting round five of the Pirates Grand Challenge league at their Hoërskool Roodepoort home.

They will be taking on The Wanderers Rugby Club from Johannesburg. Wanderers are second on the log behind their Joburg neighbours Raiders Rugby Club.

Poorte will be looking to build on their improved performances from last week to climb up the log and fight for the title.

With rivals such as Pirates and Randfontein out of the way, Roodepoort can now look towards the rest of the fixture for some positive results.

With the teams affiliated to the Golden Lions Rugby Union removed from the Assupol Series, Poorte are looking at the Grand Challenge as their chance of silverware as well as the Gold Cup international.

Games at Hoërskool Roodepoort will start at 1pm tomorrow and the club has urged the community to come out in their numbers and support the team.
