Goalkeepers wanted

RUIMSIG - Prospective goalkeepers are invited to try out for the Etsa teams.

Education Through Soccer Academy (Etsa), an academy in Ruimsig that helps young soccer players reach for their dreams and develop their soccer skills, will hold goalkeeper trials for their new teams at the end of April.

The trials will be held at the Etsa grounds in Ruimsig on 30 April from 11am, and all U13, U15, U17, U19, U20 and senior ladies who are goalkeepers can show off their skills to make the team.

After the trials for the new Etsa soccer teams, Etsa founder Lloyd Tuffney saw there was a shortage of goalkeepers. “Anyone who is selected will receive training. Experienced and beginner players are welcome to try out,” said Tuffney.

Potential goalkeepers’ skills will be tested in a few sessions of soccer and will be told whether they made the cut on the day. The teams that will be finalised after these trials will participate in competitions the likes of the Soweto Football Association Academy League. “Our teams are looking very good and we are confident going into the new season,” Tuffney added.

You can reserve your spot in the trials via email at educationthroughsoccer@gmail.com or an sms to 082 494 1262.
