Die Ruiter pupil in JOMO team

Ntombi makes the JOMO team

Laerskool Die Ruiter Primary’s Ntombi Sibambo has been selected to be part of the JOMO (Johannesburg and Mogale) team.

Representing her school and province has been a dream of Ntombi who started playing netball in grade three.

With the support of her parents and teachers, Ntombi excelled in not only Netball but various other sports.

She qualified for the D12 athletics district team but fell short in making the provincial team.

“I feel so happy that I’m in the team. I am grateful to the Lord as well as my family and teachers for supporting me. I enjoy participating in sports events. In athletics this year I participated in all the various items including high jump and shotput,” he said.

Ntombi has so much passion for the sport that she plans on turning professional once she completes her education.

Participating in the U/13 trials, Ntombi had to compete in Gauteng Schools (GSS) trials as well as the district trials to have a shot of making it into the JOMO team.
