Tyler to represent Swimming SA

Swimmer excels at breast stroke

Quest Swimming club’s Tyler Buffel participated at the Level 2 regional qualifiers held at Ellis Park Swimming pool last month.

He managed to win a gold medal for the 50-metre breast stroke and a silver medal for the 100-metre breast stroke.

He also placed fourth in the 200-metre breast stroke. Buffel has worked hard with his coach Wayne Davis-Hannibal to improve his times.

This led to him being chosen to represent Swimming South Africa at the Cana Zone IV Swimming Championships for 2016 which will be held in Mauritius later this week.

Buffel and the rest of the team will be departing for Mauritius tomorrow.

“I am extremely proud to be presenting South Africa along with 12 other swimmers at the gala,” said Buffel.

“We wish Tyler and the rest of the team well and we know they will make us proud. To God be the praise and the Glory for this awesome opportunity for Tyler we know it will inspire him to continue working hard and he will focus on reaching the goals he has set for himself,” said his father Earl Buffel.
