Maragon pupils head to JOMO trials

Gauteng Schools Netball consists of 16 districts

Chloe Tanner, Ogechi Zulu, Tyler Armitage, Zenadia Sjibesma and Morgan de Jager were selected for the D12 district team earlier this month.

The pupils from Maragon Private School also made the JOMO (Johannesburg and Mogale) regional trials.Tanner was selected into the U/12 section while Zulu, Armitage, De Jager and Sjibesma were selected into the U/13 section.

Gauteng Schools Netball consists of 16 districts.

These districts are set up according to the educational districts.

These districts function within four regions of JOMO which includes Tshwane, Sedibeng and Ekurhuleni.

In the past five years, 27 of the National Schools U/17 and U/18 players, when teams were selected, were from Gauteng.

School-based National selected teams function in three equally strength teams.

These teams participate at the National All Ages competition and most of the provinces Age Groups are featured in the finals every year.

In the past five years a school hailing from the Gauteng province was either winners or runners-up in the U/15 National Championships and have then had the opportunity to participate in an International Youth Championship in Singapore.
