Bastion rugby players involved in Easter tournament
Hoërskool Bastions U/16 rugby team fell in the finals of the Grootvlei Invitational Tournament this Easter Holidays.
Their tour was successful and the players were able to enhance their skills by participating in actual matches.
The road to the final for Bastion began with a 23-15 victory over Hoërskool Oosterland from Secunda.
This was followed by a hard fought victory over Hoërskool Bloemfontein Sentraal from Bloemfontein.
The final score in the match was 23-17. In the final of the tournament, Bastion faced off against Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog from Emalahleni.
The Bastion players gave it their all in the final but their opponent was to strong.
Despite their efforts, Bastion lost 7-28 to Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog.
However, five of Bastions players were chosen to be part of the Grootvlei Inivtational team that will travel to Ireland.
AJ Botha, Bradley Davel, Kyle van Dyk, Morne Swanepoel and Riaan de Jager will be in the tea.
