Hard luck for wrestling brothers

Wrestling duo disappointed with latest setback

Wrestling brothers Dean and Justin van Zyl fell short of realizing their lifelong dream of participating in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.

The duo was competing in Senior African Wrestling Championships in Egypt earlier this month.

They had to finish in the top 3 to go through to Mongolia and compete for a spot in the Olympics.

Dean finished in fourth position while his brother Justin finished in fifth position.

“It’s a bit disappointing to miss out on the Olympics this year but these things happen in sports. Now we will focus on qualifying for the next Olympics and not give up,” said Dean.

Although their dream is over, this is not the end of the road for the duo.

They will now be getting themselves for the Spanish Open and South African National competitions this year.
