Submission Kickboxers prove to be winners

Kickboxers from Sumbission Kickboxing Club excel

Kickboxers from Witpoortjie’s Total Submission Kickboxing came home victorious last weekend after participating in their first competition of the year.

The club sent 10 kikcboxers ranging from juniors to seniors to compete at the Grade North 1 in Pretoria’s Valhalla Air Force Base.

The national competition was attended by the top club around the country with a provincial call up at stake for the kickboxers.

They had to compete in light contact which is continuous sparring, semi-contact where points decide the winner and full on contact.

“They did well in the competition and I’m proud of them,” said coach Darin Opperman.

The club’s juniors were all smiles as the excelled at the event.

Keenan Roux won two gold medals followed by Rolande and Elminde Ross who both won a silver and bronze medal each.

Mikayla Lee won two silver medals.

Dyllan Opperman won a silver and bronze medals followed by Antoinette Visser who won a gold medal.

Jerome Oberholzer and Cole Langa won a silver medal each while Shawn Gobey won a gold medal.

Calla du Toit won two gold medals.

Opperman, Visser, Oberholzer, Du Toit and Langa were all chosen to be part of the Gauteng provincial team.
