Allen Glen rugby players selected for Lions President side
ALLEN’S NEK – Four players have been selected from Allen Glen High School.
Four rugby players from Allen Glen High School were selected to play for the Lions President side.
The school will proudly send off the four pupils to the Easter Rugby Festival at Jeppe High School in March.
The deserving young men are David Omoluwu (Grade 9), Takalani Nembanzheni (Grade 11), Julius Raybonnie (Grade 9) and Sinothando Tshontyi (Grade 9).
Schools were invited to send five of their best rugby players to be selected out of 10 schools for the festival. The good news came to the players on 12 February when they were told that four out of the five players had been selected. Allen Glen head of department of sport Hennie van Vuuren said, “It is a feather in the cap of Allen Glen for having so many players selected for the age group.”
Van Vuuren added previously that only two players had been selected from the school. “These are very promising players and extremely talented. We should see these boys playing for a provisional or national side soon.”
