Archers bring back gold

Great year for Impala Archery Club.

2015 has been a good year for the Inyala Archery Club. During the year, the club participated in five competitions where they managed to return home with five gold medals and one silver medal.

Recently, the club’s archers participated in the Gauteng Provincial Championships, Free State Provincials and Free State Nationals competitions.

In the nationals, 630 archers attending the competition and the club’s junior team finished the competition in seventh place out of 14 junior teams.

“We have a vision for next year to attend the All Stars competitions that will be held in KwaZulu-Natal next year. Archery is a school programme for children from grade 3 to grade 12. Our classes are running every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 3pm and 3pm to 4pm. In 2016 we will have our first senior team that will be joining our junior team at the upcoming competitions. A team consist of 12 archers which four must be of the opposite gender,” said coach Willem Wilhem.
