Final prize-giveaway at Roodepoort Angling Club

This past weekend, 6- 8 November, 30 top-class specimen anglers battled through a very tough fishing weekend as they aimed for the first prize at the Roodepoort Angling Club’s Final Competition

“Although Florida Lake is known to be among the hardest specimen fishing venues in Gauteng, Roodepoort anglers managed to land a couple of stunning fish,” said Wynand Fourie, Committee member of the Roodepoort Angling Club.

The winners of this past weekend’s prize-giving are as follows:

• Lionel Cloete came first and was awarded R4500 for catching a stunning 11.92kg common carp.

•Corné Feast’s catch came close when he caught a common carp which weighed 11.2kg and he was awarded with a R750 voucher for coming in second place.

• Shehkira Guerini came first place in the Junior Division category and received a R250 voucher sponsored by Knott’s Outdoor Paradise.

“We are looking forward to a fantastic new year of 2016 and we are proud to have each and every one of you on board to share in the success of the club,” Wynand said.
