This week was Florida Running Club’s turn to host the West Rand Interclub Challenge.
The time trial event, which has a focus on competition and socializing, has already been hosted by the Golden Reef Road Runners and Roodepoort Athletics Club.
More than 100 athletes from different club such as Krugersdorp Road Runners, Khosa and Panorama and Krugersdorp Running Clubs participated.
The first athlete to cross the finish line from each club is judged to be the winners of the five kilometer race.
This is to make things fair and balanced for all the clubs participating. Florida’s Kevin Vine, Khosa’s Edward Siribana, Golden Reef’s Michael Msini, Krugersdorp’s Johannes Pitso and Roodepoort’s Quintin van Zyl all crossed the line in first place for their respective clubs.
They received various prizes for their performances.
Lucky draws were also conducted where a few more athletes won hampers and prizes.
