On a windy Thursday morning, Goolam Tommy Richards accomplished a feat most golfers dream about.
He made a hole-in-one on the 14th hole at the CMR Golf Course, leaving fellow golfers flabbergasted while other jumped for joy at his success.
What makes the feat even more special is that Richards is 88-years old and is part of the Fossils, a group of veteran golfers at the club.
“It felt like the shock of my life, there was no planning or anything involved. The ball just went in. I did not expect today would be such a great day for me,” said Richards.
This is not the first time Richards who is an honourary member of the club, has sunk a hole-in-one.
“This is not my first hole-in-one. A few years ago I sunk my first one at Goldfields in Carltonville,” he said.
