Donald drifts at Brakpan

Drifter Donald Labuschagne does Roodepoort proud

Local drifter Donald Labuschagne finished in sixth position when he participated in the fourth round of the Cambees Midas SA Drift Championships last weekend.

The competition, which pits the best drifters in the country against each other was due to take place in early September.

However, it was postponed due to unforeseen rain and extreme cold weather conditions.

The racing took place last week at the Rock Raceway circuit in Brakpan where conditions were suitable.

The drifters took to the gauntlet laid out by the judges as they tried to impress them with their style, flair and sideways antics without losing the drift.

After finishing sixth in the Gold Cup, Labuschagne now lies in 14th position in the Midas Championships and eighth in the Clock Championships.
