With the braai stand ready and the timer switched on, runners lined up as the Roodepoort Athletics Club hosted the West Rand Interclub time trials.
As the whistle sounded, almost 200 athletes set off for the five and ten kilometre competition.
The event had athletes from Panorama, Florida and Khosa Running Clubs and Krugersdorp Roadrunners participating.
Roodepoort’s chairman Charlie Herselman was excited to see so many runners from different clubs embracing the spirit of the friendly competition.
The club even had a special guest as Chantel Emery, mother of the Emery triplets was there and the clubs helped her raise funds for her babies who are still in hospital.
