Roodepoort Rugby Club hosted Pirates Rugby Club this weekend at Rand Leases Sports Ground.
Even though it was a tough day on the field for the home side, fans were treated to some amazing rugby.
First on the field was the U/19 team who took on their Pirates counterparts.
They were beaten 5-53 in the final score.
The U/21 and third teams followed soon after, however, both teams did not fare well.
The U/21 team was beaten 14-29 while the third team was handily beaten 3-36.
The second team was up next to restore Poorte’s reputation but that did not go well as they too were beaten 22-29 in a tight match that produced fireworks for the whole 80 minutes.
The senior teams were the last on the field. The Pirates ran rampant on the field and Poorte could do little to stop it.
