GALLERY : Tennis tournament at Maragon
RUIMSIG – Strawberries and cream at the Maragon tennis coaching tournament.
A mini Wimbledon tennis festival at was held at Maragon Private Schools in Ruimsig on 25– 27 July. Mickey and Darren Styles Tennis Coaching Academy, hosted its first ever holiday tennis tournament.
The tournament also included pupils from neighbouring schools in the West Rand area, which made for a dynamic and competitive environment for their tennis stars.
Grade 1 to 3 and Grade 4 to 7 were involved.
Skills were competitively tested in the round robin tournament which entertained the spectators with some magnificent tennis and a new hope for the future of the game.
A coaching clinic was available for those still honing in on their skills.
Spot prizes were awarded daily which made for a fun and exciting experience for each player involved.
“The tournament was a resounding success, players not only developed their skills and knowledge of the game, but also made new friends and grew their love and passion for tennis,” said Liza Vince, tennis co-ordinator at Maragon.
The Maragon tennis courts echoed with excitement and tennis galore.
Maragon said, if any tennis fans can’t make it to Wimbledon next year, make sure to pay them a visit.
