Success in championships for Judo club

Harm Venter, Louw Schultz, Daniel Carrillo rounded off the podium positions and received a bronze medal.

Kata pairs Willem and Louw Schultz Louis Truter and Willem Truter were selected to represent South Africa at the 2016 Senior African Kata Championships.

The pairs, participating in the Kime no Kata and Katame no Kata were chosen after they won the group 6 category at the Western United Judo Association at the SA Judo Championships last week.

They were representing the Western United Judo Association at the event held at the University of Stellenbosch.

In the individual fighting category, Keenan May came home with a gold medal while Tian Vorster, Keagan Diab, Shawwal Bagaria, Morne Venter, Ruan Delport, Willem Truter received silver medals.

In the kata pairings, Darian May and Keenan May, Ferdinand Van den Heever and Ruan Delport, Harm Venter and Gerhard Schultz, Willem Truter and Louw Schultz, Gerhard Schultz and Louw Schultz, Willem Truter and Louis Truter achieved gold medals.

Silver medals were awarded to Jessica Botes and Dewald Schultz, Garren and Raydon Diab, Harm Venter and Willem Truter, Gerhard Schultz and Harm Venter.

Bronze medals were awarded to Darian May and Keenan May, Keagan Diab and Kyle Wolter, Raydon Diab and Garren Diab, Gerhard Schultz and Louw Schultz.
