Aleshia is a champion of war

Elishia Retief has cemented her place as one of the best tactical minds in South Africa.

This comes after she won the 2015 World Championships of the tactical wargame Ancient Wargames.

The Roodepoort resident has now won the title for the second consecutive year after she first won last year.

The Protea player was undefeated in the competition which was held in Swaziland last month.

Wargames is a game similar to three dimensional chess where players use representations of historical armies to determine which player has the greater tactical abilities.

The game is also known as Tactical Exercise Without Troops that has been used as officer training in the military since 1820.

Elisha has won every female title since last year including the South African Schools Championship.

She will be defending her title later this month in Johannesburg.

Last year she was given the 2014 Wargamer of the Year award and is currently ranked ninth in South Africa.
