KJK Judo take on SA Open Championships

Judoka's from the KJK-Judo Katja Club will participate in the South African Open Judo Championships.

Judoka’s from the KJK-Judo Katja Club will participate in the South African Open Judo Championships this month.

The competition will take place at DF Malan Hall at Stellenbosch University.

Keenan May, Darian May, Otto van Eeden, Mornè Venter, Shawwal Bagaria and Daniel Carilho will be participating in the competition for the first time.

In the Kata division, Tyla and Aiden Stacey-Hale, Ferdinand van den Heever and Ruan Delport, Raydon and Garren Diab, Harn Venter and Gerhard Schultz, Willem and Louis Truter, Darian and Keenan May, Keagan Diab and Kyle Wolter, Dewald Schultz and Jessica Botes will be competing for high honours.

Those participating qualified for the championships at the Gauteng provincial trials which were held in May at Randfontein.

Participants 18 and older will have a chance to impress the judging panel to be chosen for the South African team that will participate in the African Senior Championships and the World Judo Kata Championships.
