Chilly Trench Moths do it in Durban

Chilly Trench Moth’s bowling team was utterly dominant in the National Bowls Tournament

Chilly Trench Moth’s bowling team was dominant in the National Bowls Tournament, on their way to winning title.

The competition which had 60 teams participating in six groups was held in Durban earlier this month.

The team which is made up of bolwers from the Witpoortjie and Discovery bowling club won all their section games with ease.

From there, they went on through to the play-offs where their last three opponents conceded defeat before the games were completed.

“No team could match the skill and temperament of our side. Before the tournament, we set out to honour Moth Bradley Crockett whose wish was to win the title, but sadly passed away in February,” said the teams skip Rory Ferraris.

It is the second time Rory has won the title having first won it 15 years ago.

“Winning it twice is not easy. The tournament has some of the best bowling teams from around the country,” he said.
