Visions Gymnastics hit the tee with Golf Day

Visions Gymnastics Club Fundraising Fund committeehosted their annual Golf Day

1995 Rugby World Cup winner Japie Mulder was one of the big sport heroes that showed up to support the Visions Gymnastics Club Fundraising Fund.

The non-profit organisation (NGO) hosted a golf day at CMR golf course and invited former Lions Rugby Union captain Bennie Nortjè, former Proteas Cricket players Rudi Bryson, Andrè Nel and Roelof van der Merwe and Hot FM radio presenter Paul Almeida.

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for Visions Gymnastics members to further their careers by competing in international events and competitions.

“We want to raise funds for the clubs high performance gymnasts to further their career by giving them an opportunity to compete internationally and gain experience,” said the organisations chairperson Karen Malan.

The golf day entailed playing four-ball for R1800 or companies could donate to the event by sponsoring a hole.

The event had sponsors such as Canon, The Cap Company, Gautrain, the Ice Rink and many more.

The winners of the four-ball were awarded with a framed picture of Gary Player and Ernie Els with original signatures and a flat screen television.

The runner-up will receive a framed picture of Retief Goosen and Nick Price with a flat screen television.

Trophies were also handed to the player who had the ball nearest to the pin and the longest drive.

Rugby jerseys from the Blue Bulls, Free State Cheetahs, Golden Lions, Natal Sharks and Stormers rugby clubs with the entire teams signatures will be auctioned off.
