It’s only been a week since West Rand United Football Club kicked off their preperations for the year.
Their soccer season will start off in April with the Rand Central League but the team is already trying to get themselves in top condition.
The team’s programme accepts young boys and girls from four to 16 years of age with head coach Shaeem Khan to put them through their paces.
This week was the team’s third practice session and coach Khan started off with a Fifa warm up then went onto ball control and passing skills then finished off with a friendly game.
The team is based at the Cecil Payne sports stadium and practice sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Once the season kicks off, players aged eight to 10 have their matches scheduled on Saturdays while players aged 11 to 16 have their matches on Sundays.
