Visions gymnastics aiming for a successful 2015.

Visions Gymnastics are aiming to improve their year after a successful 2014.

In December last year, two of their gymnasts, Juan Crous and Riccardo Colandrea represented South Africa at the 2014 Memorial Competition in Novi Sad, a tournament for young gymnasts.

In the same month, six of their athletes, Gabriella Colandrea, Beate Malan, Ruan Lange, Tjaart Visagie, Joshua da Silva and Kean Myburgh represented the country at the Zone 6 challenge held in Namibia.
In Serbia, Riccardo came home with six medals in the 11-12 year old category, two gold medals on the floor and vault, two silver medals on the rings and parallel bar and two bronze medals on the high bar and individual all-round. Juan competed in the 15-16 year old category, finishing 10th in the indiviual all-round and 8th on the pommel.
Coach Waldo Cottle who went to Serbia with Juan and Riccardo said he was proud of the young athletes and how much they have improved over the year.
“The boys were competing against some of the best nations and they did well. They showed great confidence and character in their performances.
In Namibia, Joshua da Silva won five medals, two gold medals on parallel bar and overall, a silver medal on vault, and two bronze medals on the rings and floor.
“I was more excited than nervous because representing your country is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I had fun,” he Joshua.
Tjaart Visagie won four medals, a silver medal on pommel and three bronze medals on high bar, individual all-round.
Ruan Lange won four medals, two gold medals on the floor and vault, five silver medals on pommel, rings, parallel bar, high bar and individual all-round.
Kean Myburgh, won two gold medals on rings and parallel bar, a silver medal on pommel and two bronze medals on floor and high bar.
Beate was first overall, winning two gold medals on the floor and vault, a silver medal for the bar and a bronze medal on the beam while Gabriella a gold medal for vault, a silver medal for beam and two bronze medals for the bar and floor.
