The Roodepoort Athletic Club in conjunction with Sportsmans Warehouse at Princess Crossing Shopping Centre will be hosting a 10km road race at the shopping centre.
The race will take place on Sunday 9 November at 7am. The race follows a circular route of 10km and will start and finish at Sportsmans Warehouse, Princess Crossing. All finishers will receive a medal. The first 1 000 athletes will receive their medals at the finish while the rest will be posted. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first three men and women respectively. There is no cut-off time for the race and walkers are welcome.
Entries for the race will be accepted from 5am on the day of the race at R40 per runner. Runners also can enter at enteronline.co.za and at Sportsmans Warehouse Princess Crossing until 5 November. Athletes who are not registered with a club are welcome to take part, however, they will have to pay an additional R15 for a temporary licence.
A 5km fun run will be held while the serious runners take part in the 10km road race. The fun run also starts at 7am. Entries for the fun run will be accepted from 5am on the day of the race at R20 per entrant. No licences are required for the fun run and everybody is welcome to take part.
All finishers of the fun run will receive a medal. The first 300 finishers will receive their medals at the finish while the rest will be posted.
