Bombers are blooming

The club has gone from strength to strength since it was founded in 2008.

The Bombers U/9 baseball team was invited to a T-Ball day at Dragon Wings Baseball Club at Cecil Payne Stadium recently.

The Bombers thank the chairperson of Dragon Wings Baseball Club, Riegaana Wing, their hosts and Janice Bergman (junior chairperson of the Gauteng Baseball Federation) for attending and supporting all teams on the day.

The Bombers had an awesome day, starting with fielding and team spirit activities, following a game against Dragon Wings Baseball Club.

“The Bombers’ youngest player, four-year-old Jordan Nerson- Davies has a phenomenal personality and keeps all his teammates and his coaches on their heals,” says coach Ricky Pires.

Bombers Baseball Club was founded in September 2008 by Ashley and Bernice Petersen with the aim of developing baseball at grass-root level for children from the ages of four years.

The club is based in Weltevreden Park and is affiliated to Gauteng Baseball Federation under the auspices of the South African Baseball Union.

The Bombers practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4.30pm at Weltevreden Park Primary School. The club invites all children to come and join them.

The coaches have a huge passion for the game and the enhancement of youth on the baseball and sports fields.
