SA triumphs over the world (on Honeydew’s green)

HONEYDEW – South Africa wins at Honeydew Bowling Club's Fun International Day.

Players of the Honeydew Bowling Club could not wait for Heritage Day on 24 September. Instead, they eagerly took to the green, and forming teams according to their countries of origin, they battled each other in a fiercely competitive Fun International Day on 31 August. South Africa won.

“I thought it was excellent fun,” said committee member at the club Bev Grant, who played for Rhodesia. “We had lots of laughs though it was quite competitive.” She explained that some people also dressed in clothing depicting their countries of origin. The event was held the day after the club’s annual general meeting (AGM).
