Instilling football skills in youngsters

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Former professional football players are giving back to the community by building and grooming football youngsters.

Have you ever yearned to be the best in football and hopefully play for the national team one day?

The Elite Soccer Coaching based in Randburg is making all the right moves.

Supersport soccer analyst and former Amazulu and Bidvest Wits player, Elasto Kapowezha and his partner Butler Masango are giving back to the community.

With more than 35 years experience in football, the Weltevreden park resident Kapowezha said they enjoy building and grooming football youngsters.

“We are giving back toat focus on talent identification and life skills that we do in schools and soccer academics.”

What inspired the duo to start venturing in soccer training?

“We realised there is a serious lack of proper technique training in this country – in rugby, cricket and tennis there is specialised individual training but the same cannot be said of soccer.

“It is high time parents realise that they too need to put their kids in proper specialised soccer training, starting from a young age,” informed Kapowezha.

Kapowezha stated they are different from other soccer training facilities.

“We are passionate about what we do and we have played and coached at very high levels,” he said, “we know our story.”

He believes that youngsters of today must have perfect soccer techniques. These soccer coaches start working with youngsters from the ages of 7 to15 years and intense training starts from 16 to19 years. Kapowezha added that they also instill mental toughness in their players.

One of their major achievement was to train some players from Rand Central leagues and now they are part of teams like Bidvest Wits.
