RSC holds first exco elections

Organisation of the Roodepoort Sports Council coming together for their first executive committee elections.

The Roodepoort Sports Council (RSC) will hold its first-ever executive committee elections this August.

The 17 ward or area committees formed all over Roodepoort and surrounds will come together to decide on its first executive committee on 16 August. For this, each ward committee will present three delegates at the meeting for consideration.

The executive committee is to represent Region C of the bigger Johannesburg Sports Council (JSC). Executive members of the JSC also will be present at the meeting, including Junior Ramovha and secretary James Phera.

“Once the executive committee is elected and comes together, the bigger councils will have one body to liaise with instead of several scattered individuals,” says Aubrey Thomas who organised the original planning behind RSC.

“This is a government initiative and things need to start moving.”

The RSC executive committee elections will be held on Saturday 16 August at the Bram Fischer Community Centre. For more information on the event or to confirm attendance contact James Phera on 084 732 5849 or Aubrey Thomas on 071 760 5505.
