PSL teams help feed hungry children

The Charity Showdown is a knockout tournament that will help raise money for the Lunchbox Fund.

The first ever Charity Showdown is set to take place at Bidvest Stadium in Braamfontein on Saturday, July 19.

The preseason football tournament will see Bloemfontein Celtic, Bidvest Wits, MP Black Aces and AmaZulu taking part in a one day event that will feature two semifinals and a final.

The Charity Showdown is a knockout tournament and matches will be 45 minutes per half. At the end of full time, if the scores are still tied, the matches will be decided through penalty shootouts.

The one-day family fun day soccer event aims to raise funds for the Lunchbox Fund.

All proceeds will be donated to The Lunchbox Fund, a charity that provides a daily meal to orphaned and impoverished schoolchildren across the education sector.

The Fund feeds over 5 000 children in Gauteng, Limpopo, North West Province, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and are expanding all the time.

Tickets are out on sale for R40 per person at Computicket, Shoprite, and at the Bloemfontein Celtic club.

 

All the games will be broadcast live on e.tv at these times:

Match 1 – 9h30am-11h30am

Bloemfontein Celtic vs Bidvest Wits
Match 2 – 12pm – 2pm

Mpumalanga Black Aces vs AmaZulu
Match 3 (Final) – 4pm – 6pm
