Jomo Sono going nowhere

"There are people who will be jealous."

South African football legend Jomo Sono has vowed to continue coaching and has dismissed critics suggesting that he should step down as head coach of Jomo Cosmos.

Sono, who established the club in 1983, intends to lead the club back to the South African top flight and explains that there is no one better to lead Ezenkosi than himself.

“One thing people should know about me is that I’m not answerable to critics. It’s part of life that some people will like and others will not. There are people who will be jealous of your success in whatever capacity you function in within football,” Sono told SoccerLaduma.

“I have been in football since I was 15-years-old, and even then people have tried to topple me, but I’m still here today.

“There are people who want me to step down but who is better? In South African football we see a merry go round situation of coaches. One minute this coach is here the next he’s fired! I would rather do something myself and know that I’m the one who is accountable.”
