Moroka Swallows defender Ashraf Hendricks has signed a new two-year contract at the club, the player’s management team confirmed on Tuesday.
Hendricks’ future had been hanging in uncertainty following a difficult 2013/2014 season which saw him miss the first four months through injury.
The 29-year-old joined Swallows in 2009 from Bidvest Wits and is the second defender the Dube Birds have pinned to a new deal. The club have also retained the services of Luvhengo Mungomeni.
Hendricks was born in Cape Town and made his Premier Soccer League debut for Hellenic more than 10 years ago.
He spent a season with Vasco da Gama in the National First Division, before leaving for Wits in 2005 where he would become a regular.
Hendricks has three Bafana Bafana caps to his name, all collected in 2007.
