Wales trump EP Kings in warm-up game

Welsh too good for Kings with 34-12 victory.

Wales kicked off their June tour of South Africa with a professional 34-12 win over the EP Kings at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.

The Welsh looked in control from the onset and outscored the Eastern Cape side five tries to two on a chilly night in PE.

It was an adequate start for Warren Gatland’s men who now head to Durban with some momentum.

The Dragons face the Springboks in the first test of two tests this coming Saturday.

From the moment Josh Turnbull crossed the line in the 11th minute of the game, it seemed it would be one-way traffic.

Leading 17-0 at the interval, the visitors were in the ascendancy and looked ready to kick on in the second.

The Kings held their own in the second, but were eventually outclassed by a clinical Welsh side.
