Lambie to return following international break

Lambie available for Sharks against Cheetahs on 5 July.

Cell C Sharks head coach Jake White is confident that flyhalf Patrick Lambie would be back in action following the international break.

Lambie has missed a large chunk of the Vodacom Super Rugby season after tearing his bicep in a derby match against the Vodacom Blue Bulls back in March.

The 23-year-old was subsequently ruled out of action for six months, but White is confident the Springbok utility-back will be back for the remaining two games against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein and the Stormers in Cape Town next month.

“Patrick is doing well and we are expecting him to be able to play again after the June break. Whether or not he will be able to start or not is something we will decide nearer the time, but it will be great to have him back,” said White.

The table topping Sharks’ next match is against the Cheetahs on 5 July.
