Ruimsig Football Club, which has been using the soccer grounds at the Ruimsig Athletics Stadium for the last four years, could soon be looking for another venue.

According to the Rand Central Local Football Association chairperson Jimmy Bakos, a meeting was held between the club and stadium management to decide whether the club should continue using the sports ground.

Bakos said, “We now have to hand in a motivational letter to management but we also raised a complaint about the floodlights surrounding the sports-field that are not working.”

He further explained that the management will first have to meet and discuss what will happen and that a decision should be reached within the next couple of weeks.

He concluded, “We have not yet decided where we are going to move to if the management decides to cancel our contract.”

Connie Mofese who is part of the management team at the stadium mentioned that she was unable to comment on the situation and that the Regional Director of Sport and Recreation Mandla Mdlalose had to be contacted.

The Roodepoort Northsider did not receive feedback from Mdlalose at time of going to print.
