Sables’ first bowling tourney of 2014 to start in late January

The first Sables bowling tournament of 2014 is scheduled to commence in late January.

The Men’s and Women’s Fours tournament consists of three action-packed Sundays, starting on Sunday 26

January. Host of the tournament is Discovery Bowling Club. The finals will take place on Sunday 9 February.

David Parker, a well-known face in the Sables district promises that 2014 will be an exciting year for bowls.

David being appointed President of the District recently – following the retirement of Ian Stayt – is just one of the new changes happening in the sport.

“Ek is nou die ou in die warm stoel,” David says, joking about his well-deserved promotion.
