Vote for your Sports Star of the Year

Minister of Sport and Recreation South Africa, Fikile Mbalula, urges the public to vote for his/ her favourite Sports Star of the Year as the 2013 SAMA awards event draws closer.

The Sport Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, 17 November in Sun City with the voting to close on the day. The event will be broadcast live on SABC 1 at 8pm.

“Our sports stars work hard sly to ensure that they make the country proud and would like to urge the public to vote for their heroes,” Fikile said.

“One lucky voter will walk away with a brand new BMW 1 series for voting for his/her favourite sports star,” he added.

To vote dial *120*8883# “Sports Star” followed by a number 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.

The nominees are:

1) Itumeleng Khune

2) Chad Le Clos

3) Mapaseka Makhanya

4) Hashim Amla

5) Lucas Sithole
