It is that time of the year again …

May the festive season be one filled with peace, joy and love.

As I am writing this, I cannot believe that 2023 is almost over and that we are in the process of preparing for 2024.

This year has flown by, and it feels that I have not been present for most of it. It has been a year filled with a lot of highs, some lows, uncertainties, anxiety, and even some stress but we have managed to persevere and come out stronger than before.

As the year is speeding to an end, I want to use this opportunity to thank all of you for your belief in me and every journalist, as well as your loyalty to the paper. We will be enjoying a well-deserved break from December 21 onwards, to ensure we have a chance to recharge so we can be refreshed and ready to tackle 2024 together.

My wish for each and everyone this year is that you will remember the following, Christmas is about so much more than festive décor and gifts under the tree – it’s about celebrating family, friends, and everything else that brings you joy. And the most important is, it’s not about presents, but presence.

If you are travelling this holiday, stay safe. If you are staying at home, spend it with friends and family and make new memories as you go along, and don’t sweat the small stuff; eat the extra piece of cake, have some more pudding and indulge in that luxury chocolates!

From my family to yours, may you have a blessed Christmas, and may your 2024 be a year filled with 365 opportunities to ensure your goals are reached and dreams are realised.

Until next year, stay safe and take care of each other …
