It’s safe to say we all probably looked forward to wishing 2022 a not-so-fond farewell as a result of all the load-shedding and recent flooding that caused havoc in some areas in the West Ran.

And despite some people not being able to gather with their friends and family, we can still pop some bubbly and forget the whole year ever happened.

I looked forward to saying “goodbye” to the chaos of 2022 and welcomed a clean slate that 2023 brings.

Let’s not get too sentimental, but we should be proud of the fact that we survived and triumphed a lot in the past year.

In 2023, let’s all look forward to the positive changes 2022 taught us that we need to make, this new year, it’s all about strength.

Let’s kick off 2023 the right way: by being grateful, always looking forward, being proud of yourself, and supporting the people around you.

Maybe you took a staycation and did absolutely nothing and recharged, whatever 2022 taught you, be grateful for the lessons you can pull from it.

Look forward to better days and allow your lessons from 2022 to guide you forward and of course, be proud of yourself for having the courage to continue onwards into the unknown.

The new year can bring a clean slate, but sometimes that’s intimidating. Keep fighting!

And finally, say a massive thanks to your support network and the people around you.

Your year was unique, as it always is. But I think we can all agree that 2022 was a different breed of “different”.

So, here’s to 2023 and the new beginning it brings, may the Lord continue to meet you at your point of need.
