Finish strong

Ayanda Cetywayo from Matholesville writes:

Hebrews 12:1–2: “As for us we have this large cloud of witnesses around us. So then let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way … and let us run with determination the race that lies before us. Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith …”

With the above scripture I want you to picture a stadium full of spectators, with athletes in a race. We too are surrounded by our parents, friends, mentors, and teachers who expect us to finish strong in our journey. Remember the aim of the athlete is to reach the finish line no matter what it takes. No matter the discouragement, obstacles, past failures, peer pressure, tests, trials, challenges arising along the way. The athlete never quits, never gives up, never gives in! Instead he or she continues to be determined, dedicated, courageous, committed to finishing the race strong.

It might be that this year was not the best to some due to challenges along the journey. Yet in all that, may you refuse to be shifted from the goal, but run your race with perseverance and endurance till you finish strong!

Do everything to the best of your abilities, look beyond the setbacks and put all your effort into getting the desired results. End off on a high and excellent note. Finish in power and strong!
